Business Development Concept Video
I was engaged by a Canadian company to help broaden its offerings beyond financial services and business strategy to include sustainability services. To support this expansion, I developed a concept video showcasing potential sustainability solutions aligned with my skills, experience, and capabilities.
Rather than relying on a traditional slide deck, I designed the video as a dynamic and engaging tool to strengthen the company’s business development and outreach efforts.
Sri Lanka, a beautiful island nation, known for its biodiversity and natural beauty has not escaped the costs and consequences of mismanaged plastic pollution that end up in waterways and eventually the ocean.
On 20 May 2021, X-Press Pearl caught fire off the coast of Colombo, Sri Lanka. The container ship was engulfed in flames by 27 May and declared a total loss. The vessel sank on 2 June as it was being towed to deeper water, and the United Nations Environmental Advisory Mission declared the incident as the worst maritime disaster to have struck Sri Lanka. It has had a significant impact on Sri Lanka’s sensitive coastal environment, local communities and the economy.
This beach cleanup in Wennapuwa, in the North Western Province of Sri Lanka was a part of 'Project Oceano 7.0' with AIESEC (an international youth-run and led, non-governmental and not-for-profit organization that provides young people with leadership development, cross-cultural internships, and global volunteer exchange experiences) at the University of Moratuwa a top university in Sri Lanka known for its Engineering and Technology related disciplines, which aimed to address United Nations Sustainable Development Goal #14 - Life Under Water.
The video was created as a part of the promotion and awareness campaign surrounding the launch of Project Oceano 7.0. and the learning experiences of the AIESEC team that took part in the clean up.
During my time as Sustainability Consultant for Shanthi Sustainable Development, I designed and developed a number of promotional materials for the company, such as the following video that showcased all the sustainability efforts that had been undertaken with villages in coastal regions and in some of the most rural parts of Sri Lanka.
